Geradin Partners advises Ambea on Finnish merger control clearance for its acquisition of Humana
We are pleased to have advised Ambea on the Finnish merger control aspects of its acquisition of Humana.
Ambea, which operates in Finland through Validia, is one of the leading Nordic providers of care services. The transaction brings together two major providers with operations across several areas of social care.
Through the acquisition, Ambea further expands its presence in Finland and strengthens its offering across a range of social care services, including child welfare and disability services. The combination is part of Ambea’s continued Nordic expansion and its ambition to create an even stronger Nordic care provider.
Geradin Partners assisted Ambea throughout the Finnish merger control process, from the preparation and filing of the notification to the authority’s review of the transaction.
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority cleared the transaction unconditionally in Phase I on 25 September 2026. The transaction has also received competition clearances in Sweden and Norway.
The Geradin Partners team was led by Partner Mikko Alkio and Senior Counsel Sanna Syrjälä, assisted by Economist Antto Jokelainen and Associate Elisa Parkkinen.
