Mercedes Candela is the firm’s business manager. She joins Geradin Partner after a successful commercial career in the real estate industry.

Prior to her work in real estate, Mercedes was a legal academic. For several years, she was a lecturer in European Law at Tilburg University and before that she was a researcher at the University of Liège, specialised in the EU internal market, human rights and the external relations of the EU.

Mercedes holds a first degree in law from the University of Salamanca, two LLMs in European law respectively from the University of Liège and the University of Essex, a PhD in law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. During 2002-03, she was a visiting fellow at Harvard Law School’s Human Rights Program.
