Sanna-Mari Jäntti joins Geradin Partners as Head of Government Relations

Geradin Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Sanna-Mari Jäntti as Head of Government Relations. It marks a significant step in the firm’s strategy to build a leading Government Relations practice that combines legal excellence with high-level strategic advisory work.

Jäntti brings extensive experience spanning international business, public affairs, geopolitics and communications. Having consistently operated at the intersection of business and government, she previously served as Head of New Markets at Miltton Group and Director of Strategic Initiatives at the City of Helsinki’s Mayor’s Office. She has a strong track record of navigating complex business and stakeholder environments with a dynamic, global outlook.

In her new role, Jäntti will lead Geradin Partners’ Government Relations work across jurisdictions, contributing to client mandates in Finland and across the firm’s international offices.

Building a Top-Tier Government Relations Practice

This appointment further strengthens a team that has grown considerably in recent months. The Government Relations practice includes the former CEO of the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), former Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs and Minister of Defence Jyri Häkämies; former Mayor of Helsinki and former Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Jan Vapaavuori; Markku Keinänen, who served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Finland to the European Union in Brussels; Joona Aaltonen, formerly of EK and Helsingin Sanomat; Damian Collins, former UK Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy in London; and Marie Sellier, former Director of Public Affairs at Vivendi Group in Paris.

Damien Geradin, Founding Partner of Geradin Partners, commented:

“The legal and advisory market is undergoing its most profound transformation in a generation. Geradin Partners has built its reputation precisely at that intersection, and Sanna-Mari’s appointment further strengthens our ability to advise clients holistically. With offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Helsinki, London and Paris, we are uniquely placed to help businesses navigate the new geopolitical and regulatory order, combining the highest standard of legal practice with the strategic depth today’s environment demands.”

Sanna-Mari Jäntti commented:

“I am delighted to join Geradin Partners at such a pivotal moment. Geopolitical, geoeconomic and technological forces are fundamentally reshaping regulatory and policy landscapes worldwide. Businesses operating in highly regulated sectors increasingly require foresight and a holistic understanding of the intersection of law, economics and policy. Geradin Partners is exceptionally well-positioned to provide that guidance with the depth and excellence our clients deserve.”

Global Networks, Strategic Impact

Throughout her career, Jäntti has worked in complex international environments where partnership-building and stakeholder relationship management have been central to success. She brings extensive global networks and deep experience in client and business management across challenging, high-stakes contexts.

Mikko Alkio, Partner at Geradin Partners, added:

“The traditional model of legal practice — narrow, transactional, jurisdiction by jurisdiction — is no longer enough for many of our clients operating in regulated industries. Strategic decisions on market entry, investments, mergers, sanctions, sustainability and new technologies require an integrated reading of law, economics and policy. That is exactly the practice Geradin Partners has built, and it is the practice we are now scaling with technology.”

Jan Vapaavuori, Senior Advisor at Geradin Partners, added:

“In periods of geopolitical change, competitive advantage belongs not only to those who innovate fastest, but to those who understand the rules, institutions, and technologies shaping the new order. In today’s environment, policy, regulation, and technological capability are no longer separate domains; they are deeply interconnected sources of strategic power. This is where Geradin Partners is at its strongest, and I am excited to have Sanna-Mari join us on this journey.”

Role and contribution:

  • Lead Geradin Partners’ Government Relations practice
  • Work across Geradin Partners’ offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Helsinki, London and Paris
