Biography

Jérémie is a partner at Geradin Partners. He brings combined experience as a private practitioner, in-house counsel, and official at the European Commission. Before joining the firm in September 2025, he was Director of Competition Law and Public Policy at Schibsted Marketplaces (now Vend) in Oslo (2023–2025), partner at White & Case in Brussels (until 2023), and official at the European Commission’s Hearing Office (2010–2012). 

Jérémie’s practice covers antitrust, merger control, and digital regulation (DMA, DSA, Data Act, AI Act). 

Antitrust Laws 

Jérémie advises companies on compliance, investigations, and complaints against anti-competitive conduct. As in-house counsel, he routinely advised business teams on compliance with Articles 101 and 102 and defended cases before Nordic authorities. In private practice, he worked on landmark EU proceedings, including pharmaceutical “pay-for-delay” cases, Euribor manipulation, and multiple cartel investigations before the Commission and EU courts. He notably helped secure a rare annulment of Commission dawn raids in the French Retailers case. He has also supported clients bringing abuse of dominance complaints. 

He has particular expertise in procedural issues, in particular thanks to his time at the European Commission’s Hearing Office (unit supervising the respect for rights of defence). He teaches procedural law at the Brussels Study Center.  

Merger Control / FSR / FDI 

Jérémie advises on merger control in Brussels, Paris, and globally. He has guided clients through phase 1 and 2 proceedings, negotiated remedies with the Commission and other authorities, and coordinated multi-jurisdictional filings in major transactions. 

Digital Regulation 

As Director of Competition Law and Public Policy at Schibsted Marketplaces/Vend, Jérémie advised on digital regulation, including implementation of the DSA, Data Act, and AI Act. He contributed to DMA investigations into Google Search (self-preferencing) and App Stores (steering investigation). He also advised management on regulatory risks and tracked new EU initiatives such as the Digital Fairness Act and Circular Economy Act.

Experience

As in-house lawyer:  

  • Advised Schibsted Marketplaces/Vend as Director of Competition Law and Public Policy tech companies on the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA),  the Digital Market Act (DMA) and the AI Act.  
  • Advised Schibsted Media as in-house competition lawyer on antitrust and DMA issues.  
  • As Director of Public Policy, followed several upcoming pieces of legislations in the digital sector 

Antitrust Litigation experience:  

  • Represented pharmaceutical company, Les Laboratoires Servier, in proceedings before the Commission, and appeal before the GC and CJEU, in the Perindopril case (patent settlements agreements, Articles 101 and 102 TFEU). 
  • Represented Crédit Agricole before the Commission decision and EU courts in proceedings concerning the alleged manipulation of the EURIBOR financial benchmark. 
  • Represented Intermarché Casino Achats in its appeal against the Commission’s inspection decision, which ended in a full annulment of the EC dawn raid decision (GC and CJEU). 
  • Defended an abuse of dominance complaint before the European Commission in the energy sector  
  • Represented an interested third party in the proceedings brought by the European Commission against Broadcom (abuse of dominant position / interim measures) 
  • Helped secure a €28 million fine reduction for Toshiba before the General Court in its appeal against the European Commission cartel decision in Cathode Ray Tubes; represented Toshiba in its appeal against the Power Transformers and Gas Insulated Switchgear decisions. 
  • Advised Finnish company Sanitec in proceedings before the EC in the Bathroom Fittings & Fixtures cartel case.  

Merger Control:  

  • Advised  Finnish company Metso in its combination with rival Outotec.  
  • Advised Abu Dhabi Sovereign fund ADQ in several transactions, including its acquisition of Louis Dreyfus Company.  
  • Advised Faurecia in multiple transactions, including its acquisition of Hella.  
  • Advised T-Mobile NL on the firm’s acquisition of Tele2 NL (3-to-2 merger that went through a phase 2 investigation before the EC).  
  • Advised Cobepa on multiple transactions, including the sale of Exclusive Group to London-based international investment firm, Permira, the sale of JF Hillebrand Group AG to Deutsche Post, the acquisition of Group Socotec from Qualium Investissement. 
  • Advised Zetes Industries SA on the sale to Panasonic Group. 
  • Advised Arkea on its acquisition of Keytrade (online bank in Belgium). 
  • Advised Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd and its US subsidiary Hepalink USA Inc. on the acquisition of Scientific Protein Laboratories, LLC. 
  • Represented Metso in the EC Phase 2 merger control review in regard to the acquisition of Aker Kvaerner’s Pulping and Power businesses. 
  • Represented Luvata before the European Commission in regards to its acquisition of Italian company Eco.
