Eirini Marnera

Senior Associate

Biography

Eirini Marnera is an associate at Geradin Partners in Brussels. She holds a law degree from the National and Kapodistian University of Athens, Greece and two LLMs: in International and European Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and in European law from the College of Europe. 

Eirini advises on various aspects of EU competition law, including multi jurisdictional merger control, cartels, antitrust and regulatory investigations. She also advises clients on the interconnection of sustainability considerations and competition law issues (horizontal agreements and merger control).

Before joining Geradin Partners, Eirini was an antitrust associate at Covington & Burling LLP.

Experience

  • Advised and assisted a tech company acting as third party to an investigation about an Article 102 TFEU infringement.
  • Advised a container terminal company on two global M&A transactions.
  • Provided guidance to an international NGO on the application of the European Commission’s Guidelines for sustainability agreements in the agricultural sector.
  • Advised a tech company on the competition law implications of the application of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.
