Biography

Johannes brings deep experience in litigation relating to the digital economy, including claims under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), abuse of dominance proceedings, and cartel damages actions, as well as preliminary injunction proceedings. His practice also covers commercial and capital markets disputes and the management of complex mass proceedings.

He has practiced law since 2016. Prior to joining Geradin Partners, Johannes spent several years at Hausfeld, where he represented clients in cartel damages and antitrust cases involving self-preferencing, refusal to deal, and exclusion from platform services. He also advised clients on the enforcement of shareholder rights, particularly in cases concerning breaches of disclosure obligations and liability disputes. Johannes trained with an international commercial law firm in Munich and Paris and worked as a research associate at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Experience

  • Representing various providers of comparison shopping services in damages claims against Google
  • Representation of software developers, advertisers and online merchants on platform-related disputes, including interim relief (e.g. Google Play, Google Ads, Chrome Web Store, Amazon Marketplace)
  • Injunction against Google’s cooperation with the German ministry of health regarding health boxes
  • Representation of a legal services provider in several mass collection claims against Diesel car manufacturers involved in the Dieselgate
  • Representing shareholders in high-value securities litigation (delisting, disclosure obligations, public offers)
  • Representing clients in high value commercial liability disputes
