Szymon Kohlhepp

Biography

Szymon is an Associate at the Berlin office of Geradin Partners.  Szymon obtained his LL.B. from the European University Viadrina. He graduated top of his class in the First German State Examination in Law with a specialisation in European economic law, subsequently completed the Second German State Examination, and holds a PhD in European Law.

Prior to joining the firm, Szymon was Associate at Hausfeld and legal trainee at Freshfields in Brussels. His practice covers EU and German competition, media, and regulatory law, with a particular focus on antitrust litigation, including cartel damages claims.

Experience

  • Supporting interveners on the Commission’s side in Google’s appeals before the CJEU concerning the General Court’s Shopping and Android judgements
  • Represented alfaview in proceedings before the European Commission regarding Microsoft’s’ tying of Teams
  • Supporting platform investigations, including the European Commission’s Google AdTech case and the German Federal Cartel Office’s Apple ATT proceedings
  • Representing Adblocking providers in proceedings against Google concerning distribution and technology restrictions in the Chrome Web Store
